Universal Tung Oil Sealer is Waterlox's base coat — a high-solids tung oil sealer meant to go on first and get topped with one of Waterlox's finish coats (H2OLOX, Original, Marine, or Urethane) to build a durable, low-VOC finish for floors, cabinets, countertops, tables, and other furniture. It's a good match for dense exotic woods like teak, rosewood, and ipe that resist typical oil finishes.
It's a wipe-on, buff-off product: no brushing, no thinning, and you wipe off the excess rather than letting it sit on the surface. One quart covers 600-800 sq ft per coat. Let it dry overnight before applying two finish coats of a companion Waterlox product; cool temperatures, high humidity, or poor ventilation will stretch that further. It's suitable for interior and exterior work, though exterior jobs typically call for an added mildewcide. Sold in half-pint, pint, quart, and gallon sizes.
